Acupuncture

Usually the insertion of fine sterile needles into specific locations or points about the body. These points are often part of a predetermined system of Qi (life force, energy) that goes throughout the body like waterways through the land (channels, vessels). Proper use of these points help balance the patient by bringing about the smooth flow of Qi allowing the body to heal and function at its optimum.

Qi Gong (qi cultivation)

Exercises consisting of controlling respiration and calming the mind and having the ultimate goal of improving physical health, mental alertness and preventing and treating disease.

Tui Na (Chinese massage)

Rubbing, pressing and other manipulation of the body for treatment and the prevention of disease. Massage helps to disinhibit the joints. By stimulating the movement of Qi and blood it can regulate the function of the bowels and viscera and increase resistance to disease.

Reflexology

Specific points located on feet and hands which correlate with internal body organs. Stimulation of points releases stagnant energy helping to detoxify the body, providing relief from stress and promoting relaxation.

Herbal Medicine

Incorporates foods, minerals and other ingredients to aid in the healing process. Herbs can be taken internally or applied externally as a liniment, salve, wash or poultice.
